Chinese Text Conversion for Mac

Roshisoft’s Hanzi To Pinyin Converter has become the primary Chinese text conversion for several students learning Chinese in California, since NJStar does not provide a version for Mac OS X.

We are getting a lot of feedback about how to improve software for students and teachers. Thanks to everyone.

English Chinese Dictionary Layout For Students and Professionals Learning Chinese

chinese-english-dictionary-may2009_ui

This the new layout desired by students and professional learning Chinese in the Roshisoft English-Chinese Dictionary.

Visually, they like the way the Hanyu Pinyin is directly above the Chinese characters.

This revised UI keeps the large-type Chinese character feature and places the traditional Chinese variant on the far right.

Singapore, Malaysia, mainland China and Indonesia use simplified Chinese character set.

Wes Moss Pushing Zune on YouTube? FAIL?

wes_moss_zune

Microsoft is panicking.

You see it in the introduction of Wes Moss in an Microsoft Zune online campaign seen on YouTube.

Keep in mind that certified financial planners (CFPs) are one of the main causes of the bubble burst last year. Will people really trust a CFP talking about saving money? Nice suit, though.

The main problem for Microsoft is as follows:

  1. You have to buy a Zune.
The consumer electronics market does not have an appetite for purchasing a new platform. Everyone has an iPod.
  2. You have to subscribe to Zune.
No one wants to subscribe to anything. You see this with people choosing pre-paid plans on mobile phones.
